Bring your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter to a rewarding opportunity supporting a 4th grade student in a general education classroom. This contract position offers steady, meaningful work in a welcoming school environment, making a real impact in the classroom each day.
Key Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 4.0 or higher, or demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) as a paraprofessional
- Prior experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings strongly preferred
- Ability to facilitate clear communication between students, staff, and peers
- Comfortable providing 1:1 support to elementary-age students
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate, professional demeanor
- Serve as a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter for a 4th grade student in a general education classroom
- Assist in classroom activities, ensuring access to instruction, discussions, and social interactions
- Work collaboratively with the teaching staff and special education team to support individualized learning goals
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold school policies at all times
- Work hours: 7:50am - 2:15pm, totaling 30 hours per week throughout the school term
