Direct Counsel is representing an Am Law 100 firm seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney to join its Real Estate Finance team in either Orange County, California or New York City.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a nationally recognized finance and real estate practice that counsels clients through complex, high-value lending transactions. You'll be part of a collaborative and experienced team that advises major institutional lenders and financial institutions on a broad range of commercial real estate finance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent lenders in the structuring, documentation, and negotiation of construction, bridge, and permanent mortgage loans
  • Draft and review loan agreements, mortgage documents, and other financing instruments
  • Conduct real estate and entity due diligence, including review of title, survey, organizational documents, and opinions
  • Coordinate closings and manage timelines across various transaction stages
  • Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and third parties to drive deals to successful completion
Qualifications:
  • 4-6 years of experience at a national or regional law firm representing lenders in commercial real estate finance transactions
  • Strong background in drafting and negotiating lender-side mortgage loan documents
  • Ability to take ownership of transactions and manage workflow independently
  • Top-tier academic credentials
  • Excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills
  • Admission to and in good standing with the California or New York State Bar
Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $390,000 - $420,000, commensurate with experience and location.
