Chemours is seeking a Benefits Manager - North America to join our growing Total Rewards team. This HYBRID position will be available at the Wilmington, DE Headquarters and report directly to the Vice President of Total Rewards & HR Operations.
The Benefits Manager oversees the strategy, budget, administration, compliance, and communication of health, welfare, and retirement benefit programs for Chemours' US and Americas based employees. This role ensures effective benefits delivery, promotes employee awareness, and supports the organization's total rewards strategy, with a focus on maintaining the right balance of competitive and compelling benefits with strong financial oversight and cost control.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- In partnership with VP Total Rewards, develops and owns long-term Benefits strategy for the organization, ensuring alignment with overall Total Rewards strategy and organizational goals.
- Manages daily operations of benefits administration, including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and 401(k) plans.
- Manages vendor relationships, ensuring optimum partnerships in support of the employee experience.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for complex employee inquiries and escalated issues; resolve problems with empathy and professionalism.
- Ensures programs are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA).
- Manages annual open enrollment, vendor relationships, audits, and benefit plan renewals.
- Collaborate with HR partners, payroll, finance, and external vendors to ensure seamless administration and accurate financial reporting.
- Analyzes benefit utilization and trends; regularly recommending improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintains strong cost management and budget oversight - with close line of sight to program costs and ROI of benefits programs.
- Prepares and present benefits communications and educational materials to diverse audiences.
- Participates in the design and implementation of new benefits programs and policies.
- Manages and mentors Benefits team; providing training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7+ years' experience in benefits administration, with 3+ years in a managerial or lead role
- Experience in benefits administration as well as strategy development and vendor relationship management.
- Strong cost management and financial and budgeting focus.
- Strong knowledge of US employee benefits laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- CEBS or other benefits certification.
- Experience with Workday and benefits platforms; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

$141,120.00 - $220,500.00
