Job Title: Technical WriterJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to provide comprehensive technical writing support and updates for both new and existing documentation. The role involves ensuring that project deliverables are executed on time, with high quality, and within budget. The Technical Writer will work with industry standards to develop quality, user-friendly formats and templates for future publications, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and timely.
Responsibilities- Provide technical writing support for assigned documentation.
- Ensure project deliverables are executed on time, with high quality, and within budget.
- Work with industry and customer standards to develop quality and user-friendly formats and templates.
- Edit and manage technical documentation in support of business products.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts in the creation and implementation of documentation.
- Become familiar with applicable products, services, concepts, practices, requirements, and procedures.
- Prioritize, organize, and complete multiple activities, meeting established deadlines.
- Collect, analyze, and compile information from various resources for the creation or editing of procedures, reports, and documents.
- Manage review and approval of documents including comment resolution.
- Develop documents that are organized, succinct, compliant, and meet internal and external deadlines.
- Edit documents for consistency, clarity, grammar, syntax, format, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Process engineering changes through appropriate data management systems.
- Update project schedules on a regular basis.
- Perform requirements traceability and publishing as required.
- Support input into the Product Lifecycle Management System (PLM) and the Nuclear Collaboration System.
- Perform records management and maintenance activities as assigned.
- Conduct training for other staff members on Configuration Management functions as assigned.
Essential Skills- Technical writing experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to develop new content from a variety of resources such as product specifications and interviews with technical subject experts.
- Proficiency in using computer applications, including word processing and data entry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
- Or, an associate's degree with experience in technical writing and working towards a Bachelor's degree.
Work EnvironmentThe position involves working in a manufacturing environment where attention to detail and adherence to industry standards are crucial. The role requires the use of various computer applications and data management systems. The work environment is collaborative, often requiring interaction with subject matter experts and other team members to ensure the accuracy and quality of documentation.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
