Pay: $30-35/hr depending on experience

Role Overview

The Associate Engineer supports Central Engineering by executing engine test cell operations, analyzing performance and emissions data, and assisting with calibration and validation activities for new product development and current products in the field. This role is part of Brooksource’s Elevate Program, which provides structured technical training, professional development, coaching, and mentorship while consultants deliver hands-on engineering impact.

This is an onsite, hands-on role where time in the engine test cell is critical to success. The engineer works closely with technicians, mechanical engineers, and global teams to support testing, data analysis, and EPA-related validation efforts tied to upcoming production builds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and support engine test cell operations, including troubleshooting issues during testing
  • Analyze engine performance, calibration, and emissions data
  • Assist with calibration manipulation, validation, and release activities
  • Utilize internal tools to evaluate constraints, targets, and performance data
  • Partner closely with technicians and engineers to keep testing moving efficiently
  • Organize and manage test data, documentation, and results
  • Collaborate with global teams located in India and China

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
  • Hands-on interest or experience with engines or mechanical systems (SAE Baja/Formula, emissions labs, farm or shop experience)
  • Exposure to testing environments and data analysis
  • Working knowledge of Excel, MATLAB, and data review processes
  • Strong time management, communication, and willingness to learn

Nice to Have / Will Learn

  • GT-Power or similar simulation tools
  • AVL CONCERTO or emissions testing tools
  • Calibration development processes and internal tools
