Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of our growing company. The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the Company's financial processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing analysis by managing daily accounting operations, leading month-end and year-end closing procedures, and working with CFO to interpret financial data; essentially acting as a key figure in maintaining the integrity of a company's financial records and supporting strategic decision-making through data analysis.

Key responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

Preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Perform basic accounting procedures (e.g., A/R, maintain general ledger, etc.). Prepare consolidated financial statements (simple structure).

Account Reconciliation:

Performing detailed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.

Supervision

Supervise part-time accountant(s) who will perform bank reconciliations, accounts payable input, record expense report and credit card transactions, etc.

Month-End and Year-End Close:

Leading the month-end and year-end closing process, including preparing adjusting entries and reconciliations.

Cash Management:

Manage cash flow, process weekly A/P disbursements, and provide CFO weekly cash forecast.

Payroll:

Process payroll for the company.

Internal Controls:

Assessing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.

Audit Support:

Collaborating with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and explanations during reviews/audits.

Financial Analysis:

Performing variance analysis to identify trends and potential issues within financial data. Produce financial data for management team upon request.

Budgeting:

Assist with budget preparation and monitor expenditures against budget.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred
  • Minimum five years of experience in accounting roles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (preferably QuickBooks)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Prior experience in a small to mid-sized business environment preferred
  • Hands-on, proactive approach with a willingness to “roll up sleeves”
