Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller with a strong background in manufacturing to lead our accounting and financial operations. This role will partner closely with senior leadership to drive financial performance, improve processes, and support business decision-making. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cost accounting, financial reporting, and team leadership within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Oversee all financial operations, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Provide accurate, timely financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Support strategic planning and long-term business objectives

Accounting Operations

  • Lead day-to-day accounting functions, including AP, AR, general ledger, and cost accounting
  • Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards
  • Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Deliver variance analysis and actionable insights to leadership
  • Translate complex financial data into clear business recommendations

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process across departments
  • Monitor performance against budget and provide ongoing forecasts
  • Identify risks and opportunities through financial modeling

Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance

  • Manage cost accounting systems, including inventory valuation and overhead allocation
  • Analyze product costs and manufacturing efficiency
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives and margin improvement opportunities

Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
  • Lead external audit processes and coordinate with auditors
  • Strengthen internal controls to mitigate risk and protect company assets

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and growth-oriented environment
  • Drive performance management and professional development

Process Improvement

  • Evaluate and improve financial systems and workflows
  • Implement best practices and leverage technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
  • Strong manufacturing industry experience required
  • Deep knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly
