Accounting Team Lead - Technical Accounting
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of accounting policies, procedures, and technical research across both GAAP and SAP frameworks. This role will serve as a key resource within Finance, ensuring the company maintains compliance with all applicable regulatory and reporting requirements.
You will lead the development, maintenance, and annual review of accounting policies, while staying closely aligned with evolving guidance from standard-setting bodies such as the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. In addition, you will drive technical accounting research initiatives, partnering with cross-functional teams to evaluate complex issues under both GAAP and statutory accounting standards.
This position will also play a critical role in monitoring compliance with internal records and information management policies, ensuring consistency and adherence across Finance. You will support the integrity of external reporting through quality control of quarterly and annual filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and NAIC, including detailed review of disclosure checklists and related documentation.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting, and/or SAP, along with excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least five years of experience in public accounting or a combination of public and industry experience are required, with financial services experience preferred.
