Accounting Manager

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to support the day to day accounting operations of a multi channel apparel business. This individual will play a key role in the monthly close process, inventory accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance support.

Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial reporting

• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate account variances across inventory, prepaid, accrual, and operational accounts

• Support inventory accounting activities, including reserves, landed costs, chargebacks, and inventory reconciliations

• Partner closely with operations, production, merchandising, and supply chain teams to support accurate financial reporting and inventory visibility

• Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for leadership

• Support budgeting and forecasting activities alongside FP&A and finance leadership

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and US GAAP standards

• Assist with external audit requests and preparation of supporting schedules

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and operational workflows

• Mentor and support junior accounting staff while helping build scalable accounting procedures

Accounting Manager Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within apparel, retail, consumer products, footwear, beauty, or related industries

• Strong understanding of month end close and inventory accounting processes

• Experience working within wholesale, retail, or direct to consumer business models

• Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls

• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with NetSuite or similar platforms

• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner cross functionally across the organization

Preferred Background

• Experience supporting inventory driven consumer brands with seasonal product cycles

• Exposure to wholesale, retail, or eCommerce accounting environments

• Comfortable operating in a fast paced environment with evolving priorities

• Hands on mentality with strong attention to detail and willingness to dig into operational and inventory related issues
