Mechanical Engineer

LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company. This role is perfect for a professional with a strong background in mechanical design, equipment installation, and continuous improvement initiatives within production environments. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with CAD tools, comfortable collaborating on cross-functional projects, and focused on optimizing reliability, performance, and cost.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and improve mechanical components, assemblies, and production equipment to meet performance, quality, and safety standards.
  • Create detailed drawings, specifications, and BOMs using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Lead equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities in partnership with maintenance and production teams.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve reliability.
  • Perform tolerance analysis, material selection, and DFM/DFA for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Support NPI (new product introduction) by translating design requirements into production-ready solutions.
  • Collaborate with quality and operations to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal procedures.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and maintenance schedules.
  • Analyze performance data and recommend continuous improvement initiatives to enhance throughput and reduce downtime.
  • Manage vendor relationships for custom components, tooling, and equipment upgrades.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and PLM/ERP tools; strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
  • Experience with mechanical systems, pneumatics/hydraulics, materials, and failure analysis.
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and experience working with machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME) and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: $80,000 – $95,000 based on experience
