Mountain Gateway Community College (MGCC) is a two-year public institution of higher education and one of 23 community colleges in Virginia. MGCC seeks a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Part-Time Security Officer. We want to hear from you if you're dependable, vigilant, and enjoy working in a dynamic campus setting! What You'll Do:

• Maintain the safety and security of all college buildings and grounds
• Open and lock facilities, perform routine security patrols inside and outside campus buildings
• Monitor campus activities to ensure a secure environment
• Respond promptly to any suspicious persons or events
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, and visitors
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support campus safety

Special Assignments - May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications - High school graduate or equivalent. Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in all situations. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and nights.
