STATE ATTORNEY'S OFFICE, 11TH CIRCUIT- LEGAL ASSISTANT II
Legal Assistant II - Felony and County Court Divisions
Various positions are available throughout the State Attorney's Office. The job responsibilities for a Legal Assistant II include but not limited to: providing secretarial and caseload support for attorneys who have a high-volume caseload, preparing and processing court calendars, sending trial subpoenas, database maintenance, preparation of forms, motions and correspondence, processing incoming and outgoing mail, as well as extensive telephone work and public contact. The work schedule varies by division assignment between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The job responsibilities are:
- Preparing daily court, supplemental and alias capias calendars
- Processing court calendar returns
- Preparing subpoenas, motions and orders
- Ordering photos, body-worn cam videos, police reports and other supporting documentation from additional agencies
- Distributing and organizing incoming/outgoing mail
- Completing requests for Assistant State Attorneys
- Maintaining database
- Performing phone work and having contact with the public and law enforcement personnel
- Performing other related duties as assigned
The minimum requirements are:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- One (1) year secretarial or clerical experience
The preferred qualifications and skills are:
- Being fluent in English and Spanish
- Specific skills and characteristics
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Be personable and positive, demonstrating compassion and providing excellent customer service to all levels of staff and the public
- Work effectively under pressure with stringent deadlines
- Possess significant knowledge of computer programs and the ability to work in a paperless work environment
- Have very good verbal and written communication skills

- Be flexible with their work schedule and able to work additional hours when required
- Be detailed-oriented
- Be adaptable to change
- Work effectively with all levels of staff, outside agencies and the public
Starting annual salary: $37,072.44
