Business Manager
Salary: $70,000–$75,000
We are seeking a hands-on Business Manager to lead Human Resources while supporting accounting, purchasing, and general business operations. This role reports to the CFO with a dotted-line relationship to senior operations leadership.
Key Responsibilities for the Business Manager:
Human Resources (Primary Focus)
Manage multi-state HR compliance
Process biweekly payroll for using ADP Workforce Now
Lead recruiting and onboarding for operations and driver roles
Administer benefits, 401(k), leaves of absence, garnishments, and workers’ compensation
Coordinate background checks, drug screens, and new hire documentation
Maintain strict confidentiality
Accounting & Administration
Support accounts receivable and collections
Assist with insurance renewals
Work within ERP system (Plex experience a plus)
IT & Purchasing
Serve as first point of contact for basic IT and phone issues; coordinate with outsourced IT provider
Order and manage laptops, phones, and office equipment
Handle purchasing of office supplies, packaging, and production materials
Run MRP reports, create purchase orders, manage suppliers, and assist with contract negotiations
Other
Support board meetings and weekly leadership meetings
Coordinate company events and general office needs
Qualifications for the Business Manager:
3+ years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Strong HR generalist background required
Experience with payroll, benefits, and employment compliance
ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
