Pharmacy Technician
Pride Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join a team in Seaside, OR 97138 for 13 weeks of contract with possible extension. This role focuses on sterile and non-sterile compounding, medication preparation, and ensuring safe, accurate medication distribution.
Job Description:
The Pharmacy Technician supports inpatient pharmacy operations within a critical access hospital setting, working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The ideal candidate has strong IV admixture experience, proficiency in pharmacy systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Medication Preparation & Compounding
- Prepare and compound sterile and non-sterile medications, including IV admixtures (non-hazardous required)
- Follow aseptic technique and USP guidelines for sterile compounding
- Label, package, and distribute medications accurately
- Assist in controlled substance handling and documentation
Pharmacy Operations
- Support daily inpatient pharmacy workflow in a critical access hospital
- Utilize automated dispensing systems (e.g., Pyxis) for medication distribution
- Maintain inventory, stock medications, and manage supply levels
- Ensure compliance with medication safety standards and protocols
Systems & Documentation
- Accurately document medication orders and activities in Epic Systems
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Ensure proper documentation of all compounding and dispensing activities
Quality & Safety Compliance
- Follow all hospital, state, and federal pharmacy regulations
- Adhere to medication safety practices, including high-alert and look-alike/sound-alike drug protocols
- Maintain cleanroom standards and properly sterilize compounding equipment
Required Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Required
- Active State Pharmacy Technician License - Required
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience
- IV admixture experience (non-hazardous required)
- Experience with Epic Systems and Pyxis - Required
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and compounding procedures

- Location: Seaside, OR 97138
- Contract: 13 Week with possible extension
- Shift Schedule: 5x8 Days 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Yes - 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM), consecutive weekends
- Pay Rate: $24 - $26/hour
