Quality Engineer

Must Haves:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of quality control automotive experience
• 3+ years of experience with IATF 16949 (International Automotive Task Force) (quality audits, documentation, corrective actions, etc.)
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Job Description:

This Quality Engineer will support plant-wide quality improvement efforts in an automotive manufacturing environment while ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 quality standards. The role is responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS), leading internal and external audits, and supporting certification requirements. This individual will partner cross‑functionally to drive problem solving, reduce scrap and rework, and ensure customer and supplier quality expectations are met. Key responsibilities include APQP (advanced product quality planning) and PPAP (production part approval process) execution, supplier quality validation, and development of PFMEAs, control plans, and process capability studies.

Day to Day:

• Support daily quality improvement activities across production and manufacturing teams.
• Maintain and ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems and standards.
• Lead and participate in internal and external quality audits and follow up on corrective actions.
• Create, update, and manage PFMEAs, control plans, process flows, and capability studies.
• Coordinate APQP and PPAP activities to support new launches and customer requirements.
• Work with suppliers and internal teams to evaluate product quality, reduce scrap, and prevent defects
