Base Salary: Flexible depending upon experience level

Notes:

  • Hybrid schedule available after completion of the initial onsite training/probation period (estimated 1–3 months), with up to 2 remote days per week.
  • Construction | Full-Time | Reports to Controller.
  • Clear growth path to Assistant Controller or Controller role.

Job Description:

  • Seeking an Accounting Manager with strong technical expertise, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and payroll operations for 140+ employees.
  • Serve as the primary backup for AR, AP, and payroll functions.
  • Lead with humility, accountability, and proactive communication.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with teammates, vendors, and clients.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and detail-oriented financial operations.
  • Manage progress billings, AIA/Schedule of Values (SOVs), and change orders.
  • Track retention and ensure timely collections.
  • Oversee Preliminary Notices and Lien Waivers.
  • Maintain positive client relationships throughout the billing cycle.
  • Manage high-volume vendor invoices with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Reconcile GL accounts and oversee weekly check runs.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Process payroll for 140+ employees across multiple pay types.
  • Ensure compliance with Prevailing Wage and Certified Payroll requirements.
  • Manage pay scales, raises, reimbursements, loans, and bonuses.
  • Prepare and review WIP reports and job cost reports.
  • Support month-end close activities and GL reconciliations.
  • Generate financial reports and KPIs for leadership.
  • Identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
  • Cross-train and support team members to ensure operational continuity.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction accounting (required).
  • Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP, AIA billings, and Certified/Prevailing Wage payroll.
  • Familiarity with construction accounting software (Sage, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar) and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent hands-on experience.
