Accounting Technician (OA)

This Accounting Technician (OA) provides senior financial management support in the USAO-DC Budget and Finance Section by recording and reconciling obligations in the Unified Financial Management System (UFMS), reviewing invoices and vouchers for payment, resolving discrepancies, and producing reports to support accountability of obligations and expenditures. If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team in the Budget and Finance Section (BFS) of the Administrative Division that is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive financial management program for the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. Typical work assignments will include:

• Maintaining and reconciling financial records and accounts.
• Reviewing and processing vouchers to ensure they are accurate, complete, properly supported, and compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
• Identifying and resolving billing and cost issues involving vendors, contractors, and travel-related services.
• Assigning the correct accounting and object class codes to financial transactions.
• Entering and verifying data in financial systems to ensure accuracy.
