Mechanical Engineer

Job Description Job Description Peter Albrecht Company designs, manufactures, and helps install custom hoist systems lifting large indoor scoreboards and chandeliers; enclosures for medical exam lights; and stage equipment for theaters. We have an immediate opening for a mechanical engineer. This position will work well for someone desiring to have a key role in a small company. Work includes reviewing structural drawings provided by customers to determine how to best integrate our equipment, system design using our library of previous work as a reference along with collaboration with installers and ownership, working with established suppliers to procure parts, making product improvements, and helping with management of projects. Involvement is from start to finish. Position requires: * Proficiency using 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks. * The ability to read blueprints. * Belief and habit demonstrating that design details matter. * Strong mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of electronics. * A sense of curiosity with goal of understanding and improving products and processes. * The ability to work well in a team and independently. A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering degree is preferred. A background with motorized rigging equipment is a plus but not required.
