Accounting Manager

Location: Glendale, CA (Onsite – 5 days/week)

We are partnering with a growing consumer products company to identify an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations within a fast-paced, inventory-heavy environment.

This role will report directly to the Controller and play a key role in managing operational accounting functions, supporting financial reporting, and helping strengthen the accounting infrastructure as the company continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

• Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, AP, AR, reconciliations, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP
• Monitor and analyze accounting data to provide actionable financial insights to leadership
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings
• Partner cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and sales teams to support business initiatives

Team Leadership & Process Improvement

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff while helping drive team development and performance
• Help create efficiencies across operational accounting processes and reporting workflows
• Maintain and improve accounting systems, controls, and procedures to enhance scalability and accuracy
• Support future ERP optimization initiatives, including planned system enhancements

Systems & Environment

• Work within Sage ERP, with future exposure to a planned NetSuite implementation
• Operate within a fast-paced, high-growth environment with strong operational exposure
• Opportunity to help build and strengthen accounting infrastructure alongside leadership

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong operational GL accounting experience required
• Experience within inventory-heavy, product-based, retail, wholesale, or distribution environments strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience overseeing AP/AR functions and operational accounting workflows
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting and financial reporting
• ERP experience required (Sage and/or NetSuite preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills preferred
• CPA and/or public accounting background is a plus, but not required
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills

Target Compensation: Up to $150K base salary + bonus
