Our client, a Japanese industrial equipment manufacturer, is searching for an Accounting Manager to join their team.

Position: Accounting Manager

Industry: Industrial equipment manufacturer

Location: Loveland, OH or Totowa, NJ Hybrid 3 days in office

Salary: $84k+ (DOE)

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes and prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Oversee manufacturing accounting activities including cost accounting, inventory, standard costing, and variance analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting activities.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, fixed assets, and production-related financial data. Maintain internal controls and assist with SOX compliance, audit coordination, and preparation of supporting audit documentation.
• Work closely with operations, procurement, sales, and leadership teams to support business and plant operations.
• Use ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 and JD Edwards along with advanced Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
• Analyze financial results, margins, and cost trends to support business decisions and cost improvement efforts.
• In charge of supervising and leading 3-4 accounting team members
• Communicate and report to group company branches

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent knowledge or experience preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, and cost accounting.
• Experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and manufacturing operations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 or JD Edwards, along with advanced Excel skills.
• Experience supporting audits, internal controls, SOX compliance, and preparation of audit documentation.
• Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to work closely with operations, procurement, sales, and executive leadership teams.
