President and Chief Executive Officer

The successful candidate for the President and Chief Executive Officer role with the client will lead an esteemed nonprofit organization specializing in transportation policy. The client has a long history of providing rigorous, independent research and innovative recommendations impacting all transportation modes. This role involves furthering the organization's reputation as a prominent thought leader and managing a professional development program that has shaped nearly 5,000 transportation professionals. The candidate will ensure the client's continued relevance and efficacy in the transportation sector by leveraging diverse revenue streams and fostering collaborations with public and private entities. Key responsibilities include working closely with the Board of Directors to create and implement policy initiatives and industry training programs, while securing necessary financial support. The President and CEO will uphold the client's reputation in Washington, D.C., and enhance its credibility through new strategies and digital resources. Additionally, this role encompasses strategic leadership and management, ensuring the fulfillment of the strategic plan, managing resources responsibly, and protecting the financial and ethical standing of the organization. The President and CEO will lead a team of approximately 11 full-time employees, providing strong executive leadership and management. Responsibilities include oversight of internal programs, building strong teams, and ensuring the organization is staffed with well-trained, engaged employees at all times. The role also requires collaboration with the leadership team to develop effective hiring, training, and compensation plans to retain quality talent. The candidate will guide the organization in sourcing new funding opportunities and enhancing existing revenue channels to support ongoing and future initiatives.
