Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team in the Construction Industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the growth of our company. You will play a crucial role in developing comprehensive, accurate, and competitive estimates for various construction projects, focusing on mechanical aspects such as HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal. You will also be responsible for bidding and budgeting, retrofit, and mechanical estimation. This is a permanent position that requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed mechanical estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation.
2. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
3. Use your expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal to provide accurate cost estimates.
4. Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
5. Prepare and submit bids for projects, ensuring all deadlines are met.
6. Conduct risk analysis, identifying potential issues and providing solutions.
7. Participate in the negotiation and award process for subcontractors and suppliers.
8. Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
9. Assist in the preparation of budgets and schedules for projects.
10. Participate in project meetings, providing updates on cost estimates and budgets.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical estimating within the construction industry.
2. Proven experience with retrofit, sheet metal, HVAC, plumbing, estimating, bidding, and budgeting.
3. Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction methods.
4. Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
5. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
6. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
7. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
