Job Overview:

The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH), Division of Community Health Services, is looking for a dedicated Dental Assistant 3 to join our team! This position is based in Woodbury, TN at our Cannon County Health Department.

This is a great opportunity to provide patient-centered dental care in local health departments while supporting TDH's mission to protect, promote, and improve the health and well-being of Tennesseans.

What you'll do:

• Assemble dental supplies and instruments and ensure pertinent dental exam records are available prior to patient seating. Use 4-handed technique while assisting dentist and disinfect operatory and sterilize instruments after every dental patient treatment.
• Manage and maintain equipment and supplies including autoclave, ultrasonic cleaner, and dental unit water lines. Monitor expiration dates and prepares dental supply orders per procurement guidelines.
• Ensure accomplishment of daily productivity goals in alignment with the Tennessee Department of Health Model Dental Clinic guidelines. Manage priorities and individual efficiency to assist in meeting County Performance Plan goals for encounters and Relative Value Units. Collaborate with local management to address clinic flow and staffing concerns.

What we're looking for:

• Active TN Dental Assistant registration

• Required certifications (Radiology, Coronal Polishing, Sealants, Nitrous Oxide Monitoring)

• Team-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Valid driver's license
