Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite) – Los Angeles, San Diego, or San Francisco, CA Compensation: $170,000 – $200,000 base salary Bonus: Eligible for annual performance bonus

The Opportunity HireNow Staffing is acting as a direct placement partner for an Am Law 200 firm seeking a mid- to senior-level Litigation Attorney (5+ years) to join its Litigation Business Unit in California. This attorney will work exclusively with a specialized team defending automobile manufacturers, distributors, and dealerships in warranty-related litigation. While warranty experience is not required, the firm is seeking candidates with strong litigation fundamentals, meaningful trial and arbitration exposure, excellent academic credentials, and a demonstrated commitment to high-quality advocacy. Stable career progression and strong academic performance are essential for consideration.

Key Responsibilities Candidates will be considered for interview based on demonstrated ability to:

  • Defend complex warranty litigation matters on behalf of automotive manufacturers and dealer networks
  • Serve as a trial-ready litigator handling cases from inception through resolution
  • Conduct depositions, witness preparation, and discovery strategy
  • Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and discovery-related filings
  • Prepare for and participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement proceedings
  • Deliver strong courtroom advocacy, including opening statements, closing arguments, and witness examinations
  • Provide clear and professional communication with clients, internal teams, and opposing counsel
  • Maintain exceptional organization and attention to detail while managing multiple active matters

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable) These qualifications are mandatory. Candidates who do not meet all requirements will not be considered.

  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience (mid to senior level)
  • Active membership in the California State Bar, in good standing
  • Extensive experience with trial and arbitration preparation, including:
    • Opening and closing arguments
    • Witness examination
    • Motion practice
    • Depositions
    • Mediation participation
  • Exceptional advocacy, legal research, writing, and negotiation skills
  • Strong academic credentials (critical in an Am Law 200 environment)
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to delivering excellent work product
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional communication
  • Stable resume with consistent tenure and demonstrated performance

Preferred Qualifications (Standout Differentiators) Candidates with the following experience will be viewed as especially strong:

  • Prior exposure to automotive, consumer warranty, or product-related litigation defense
  • Experience in an Am Law firm or similarly sophisticated litigation practice
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume litigation while maintaining quality and client service
