Accounting Manager

Our client, a publicly traded technology company in the Bay Area, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support the team during a transitional period. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys improving processes while keeping operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end and quarter-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, consolidations, intercompany activity, and financial reporting support
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and SOX controls to support a scalable public company environment
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams including FP&A, Tax, Legal, and Accounts Payable to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Coordinate external audit activities, manage PBC requests, and ensure audit deliverables are organized and completed on schedule
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to streamline workflows, improve reporting accuracy, and reduce manual effort
• Support special projects and ad hoc accounting initiatives as the organization continues to grow and evolve

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a blend of public accounting and industry experience preferred
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and experience applying accounting guidance in a dynamic business environment
• Experience managing close processes and working within ERP systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with SOX compliance and maintaining effective internal controls in a public company setting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required;
• Self-starter with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a process improvement mindset
