POSITION SUMMARY: Expectation of this role is providing additional oversight and leadership to Accounts Receivable and Billing processes to improve current KPI, bridge these areas to the new NetSuite ERP, and use BOTs and other automation in the new ERP to streamline workflows. After AR and Billing functions are stabilized and automated, the responsibility and oversight of the Accounts Payable department would be added to this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing all functions related to Accounts Receivable and Billing to ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Select, manage, train, and develop staff. Establish objectives, KPIs and provide ongoing feedback through performance reviews and development plans. Example KPI:
- % current accounts receivable from 75% current to 90%+ current
- Achieve next day billing for 90% of orders
- Oversee core components of the close cycle related to A/R and Billing, including preparation and review, account reconciliations, and analyses.
- Lead team members of Accounts Receivable and Billing in overseeing departmental operations, including work allocation and goal attainment.
- Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at shortening the cash cycle, minimizing manual tasks, and standardizing processes.
- Lead the implementation and integration of existing Ascend software to the new NetSuite application for Accounts Receivable and Billing.
- Owns all general ledger accounts related to Accounts Receivable and the monthly reconciliation of those accounts
- Leads and executes new customer Credit process as well as the credit review of existing customers
- Is the gate keeper for customer credit holds and the key decision maker of whether to release or hold customer orders based on the customers credit worthness
- Support Director of Accounting Operations with ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives.
- Provide technical accounting expertise and stay current on applicable accounting guidance and standards.
- Ensure effective internal controls are in place for the financial close process, supporting compliance and mitigating financial risk through policy and procedure adherence.
- Deliver presentations when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor degree in accounting and 5+ years of accounting experience with 2+ years of experience managing people. CPA or MBA preferred. Proven track record of communication and extensive background in accounting with emphasis on controls, analysis and technology.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- A comprehensive understanding of US GAAP, internal controls and full cycle accounting experience
- Proficiency with financial reporting systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex financial data
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey financial
- information to non-financial stakeholders
- Individual contributor but willing to teach/mentor
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow and reassign as necessary

Noise level in the work environment is normally moderate but occasionally high. Typically the duties are performed indoors, during the day and some overtime may be required.
