Manager, Accounting
Location: NJ (Hybrid – 3 Days/Week In Office)
About the Role
We are seeking an Accounting Manager to support the monthly and quarterly close process and oversee key accounting and reporting activities related to revenue and operational expenses. This role will work closely with Finance, Technical Accounting, Controllership, and cross-functional business partners to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and process efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support monthly and quarterly financial close activities, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and timely in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
• Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, with emphasis on linear distribution, advertising, and other revenue streams.
• Assist with preparation and analysis of internal financial statements and management reporting packages, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reporting.
• Partner with Finance and Technical Accounting teams to evaluate accounting treatment for new or complex transactions.
• Maintain and document internal controls to support SOX compliance and assist with internal and external audit requests.
• Identify and support process improvement initiatives and control enhancements across accounting operations.
• Assist with implementation and enhancement of financial reporting systems and controllership tools.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members while fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Collaborate with IT and controllership teams on reporting system enhancements and automation initiatives.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Financial Planning, Legal, and broader Finance organizations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• 4+ years of accounting and/or finance experience, preferably within media or entertainment.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting controls.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and audit support processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
