We are partnering with a leading global financial institution who are looking for a qualified attorney to join its New York-based legal team, supporting a broad Lending and Structured Finance platform.
This is a highly visible role where you'll act as a trusted advisor to business and risk partners, working across a diverse range of financing products within a lean, high-impact team embedded in a large international organization.
The Role
You will provide legal support across a wide spectrum of financing activity in North America, including:
- Corporate and institutional lending transactions (syndicated and bilateral)
- Fund finance (subscription lines, NAV-based facilities, and related structures)
- Trade finance and working capital solutions
- Project finance and structured finance / securitization
- Capital markets-adjacent lending structures (e.g., fixed-income and private placements)
You'll be responsible for:
- Drafting and negotiating credit agreements and related documentation
- Advising on transaction structuring and execution
- Supporting product development initiatives
- Partnering closely with front-office, credit, risk, compliance, and operations teams
- Engaging with external counsel and driving deals to completion
- Advising on key U.S. regulatory considerations (including AML, sanctions, and bank regulatory frameworks)
- Collaborating with international legal teams, particularly in Europe
Qualifications:
We're looking for a commercial, solutions-oriented attorney with:
- 6-8 years of experience at a top law firm and/or financial institution
- Strong background in banking / finance, structured finance, or capital markets
- Experience with loan documentation and credit transactions
- Exposure to fund finance, trade finance, or securitization (strong plus)
- NY Bar admission (required)
- Ability to translate complex legal issues into practical advice
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Proactive, hands-on approach in a fast-paced environment
- High levels of ownership, judgment, and attention to detail
