Accounting Manager

Our client, a rapidly growing healthcare services platform headquartered in Chicago, is looking to hire an Accounting Manager. The business is scaling quickly, both organically and through acquisitions, and they are seeking an individual who can grow into an Assistant Controller role over the next couple of years. This position will be involved in accounting, reporting, and acquisition integrations, while also helping build and improve processes to support the company’s continued growth. It is an exciting time to join the organization, as the company is well positioned and well capitalized to continue expanding. This is a hybrid role 1-2 days a week onsite in the downtown Chicago office.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting packages
• Perform variance and flux analysis and explain key business drivers behind results
• Assist with technical accounting matters including lease accounting and GAAP compliance
• Support external audit processes and coordinate audit deliverables
• Partner with operations and leadership teams to provide financial insights and KPI analysis
• Assist with acquisition integration efforts and onboarding of newly acquired entities
• Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to improve scalability and efficiency
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis requests
• Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, operational leadership, and investment stakeholders

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience
• Public accounting background in audit/assurance preferred
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience supporting month-end close and external audits
• Ability to communicate financial results clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences
