We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations across a portfolio of properties. This role requires strong expertise in real estate or hospitality accounting, with a focus on multi-entity structures, financial reporting, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on approach to managing property-level accounting while driving consistency, accuracy, and process improvements across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties across multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial close
- Oversee month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation
- Review and analyze property-level financials, including variance analysis and performance reporting
- Ensure proper accounting treatment for leases, revenue recognition, and property-related expenses
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls across multiple entities and reporting structures
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of property accountants
- Partner with asset management, operations, and leadership teams to support business decisions and optimize performance
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit and tax processes
- Drive process improvements and standardization across the accounting function
Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on property accounting
- Direct experience in real estate or hospitality industries
- Proven experience managing multi-entity accounting environments
- Prior managerial or team leadership experience
Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and property accounting principles
- Experience with property management/accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
