Accounting Assistant Manager (Direct Hire)

Lebanon, OH (Hybrid – 4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

We’re partnering with a growing manufacturing organization in the Cincinnati area to hire an Accounting Assistant Manager. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on accounting work, team leadership, and process improvement within a collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and support day-to-day accounting operations across inventory, fixed assets, leases, AP, and payroll
• Oversee monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting (P&L and balance sheet)
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and tax requirements
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, HR, and Procurement to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
• Review and manage inventory accounting, including valuation and physical inventory coordination
• Oversee fixed assets and lease accounting (including depreciation, capitalization, and ASC 842 compliance)
• Manage accounts payable and payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate payments
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve reporting, and enhance systems/ERP usage
• Support and mentor junior team members while contributing to a positive team environment
• Assist with annual audits and financial reporting requirements

What We’re Looking For

• ~7+ years of accounting experience, with leadership or management experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles, especially around inventory, fixed assets, AP, and payroll
• Experience in inventory accounting, AP, and cash management
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with financial/ERP systems (Oracle is a plus)
• Background in manufacturing accounting

Nice to Have

• Automotive industry experience (highly preferred)
• CPA or working toward certification
• Experience with Power BI, Concur, or similar tools
