Accounting Analyst

Direct Hire role with our client in Somerset, PA.

Hybrid position - Individual will need to be on-site 50% of the time.

Our client is seeking an Accounting Analyst to support inventory accounting, gross margin analysis, financial reporting, and operational finance initiatives. This individual will play a key role in improving data integrity, supporting process improvements, and delivering actionable financial insights across the business.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor inventory valuation
• Reconcile inventory subledger activity to the general ledger
• Analyze purchase costs, landed costs, freight allocations, and margin trends
• Investigate inventory adjustments, write-offs, and reserve activity
• Support cycle counts and physical inventory processes
• Prepare gross margin reporting and variance analysis by product, customer, and channel
• Support month-end close activities including inventory journal entries, accruals, and COGS analysis
• Assist with management reporting and financial statement flux analysis
• Maintain and improve cost accounting processes, controls, and data integrity
• Partner cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, FP&A, and ERP teams
• Support initiatives focused on inventory optimization and working capital management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or operational finance
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting and GAAP inventory valuation
• Experience working within Accounting ERP systems
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, reporting, and data analysis
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and operational stakeholders
• Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement and scalability
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment
