Project Accountant
Highly valued, thriving construction client is seeking a Project Accountant to manage the accounts of various construction projects by monitoring detailed budgets, overseeing supplier and subcontractor contracts, evaluating production costs, and verifying invoices and statements from the suppliers. This position includes administrative and accounting goals, working closely with the Project Management team and accountable for timely billing and communication to and with the client’s representatives. This is a full-time position that reports to the Accounting Manager but also works closely with the Project Management team. Responsibilities Collaborating with the project manager to maintain a detailed, cost-effective budget for the project. Performing accounting duties throughout the project, such as preparing invoices, estimating cash flow, preparing subcontracts, and developing purchase orders with primary suppliers. Analyzing all transactions and working unforeseen costs into the budget. Keeping a record of all project finances for internal/external auditing and tax purposes. Preparation of Client Unit Cost/Unit Price invoicing monthly Preparing cost analyses by interpreting projects' financial data and information. Reporting any financial risks and budgetary discrepancies to management for review. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Keeping abreast with both the construction and accounting industry. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2-5 plus years of accounting experience in construction company Experience with job costing Extensive knowledge of accounting methods, specifically in the construction industry. Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to utilize spreadsheet applications to support regular entries and controls.
