About The Role
We are partnering with a leading global healthcare solutions organization to hire a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Billing and Claims Submission Specialist supporting advanced wound therapy services. This role is integral to ensuring accurate and compliant billing practices for specialized medical equipment, directly impacting reimbursement outcomes and patient access to care.

This position is ideal for an experienced medical billing professional who brings strong coding expertise, deep knowledge of payer requirements, and a high level of attention to detail. You will work cross-functionally and leverage both clinical and financial data to improve claim accuracy, reduce denials, and enhance overall billing performance.

Job Description
In this role, you will serve as a key contributor to the revenue cycle by ensuring that all claims are submitted accurately, completely, and in compliance with payer and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for proactively identifying potential billing issues, resolving discrepancies, and minimizing claim denials through thorough review and follow-up. Success in this position requires a strong balance of analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication, as you will regularly interact with both internal stakeholders and external partners to support timely reimbursement and maintain high standards of operational excellence.
  • Oversee end-to-end billing and claims submission processes for durable medical equipment, including advanced wound therapy products (e.g., negative pressure wound therapy/VAC systems)
  • Analyze billing reports, claim edits, and denial trends to identify root causes and drive cleaner submissions
  • Review payer-specific guidelines and policies via payer portals to ensure compliance and optimize reimbursement
  • Proactively communicate with insurance payers, physician offices, and patients (via inbound and outbound calls and email) to obtain missing or clarifying documentation
  • Accurately update claim information, make corrections, and resubmit claims within required timelines
  • Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to review and document patient and billing data
  • Apply CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding knowledge to ensure proper claim coding and submission
  • Prioritize and manage a high-volume workload while meeting weekly, monthly, and quarterly productivity and quality targets
  • Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and internal compliance standards in all aspects of billing operations
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline workflows and improve billing accuracy and efficiency
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED (verified prior to start)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience in medical billing, claims processing, or healthcare revenue cycle support
  • Strong working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems
  • Proven experience reviewing and submitting claims with a focus on accuracy and compliance
  • Solid understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare billing compliance standards
  • Experience working within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and billing platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (data tracking/reporting), Word, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze claim data, identify issues, and take corrective action
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with payers, providers, and patients
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict productivity and turnaround deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting durable medical equipment (DME) or wound care/advanced therapy billing
  • Background in post-acute care environments such as home health, skilled nursing facilities, or wound care centers
  • Familiarity with payer denial management and appeals processes
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy in documentation and billing
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals and process improvements
