Location: Arlington Heights, IL

Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Overview

We are partnering with a growing organization in the Arlington Heights area to hire an experienced Accounting Manager. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, lead a small team, and play a key role in financial reporting, process improvement, and audit coordination. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in public accounting combined with progressive industry experience and leadership capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close processes
• Oversee general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing coaching and development
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Coordinate and manage external audits and support audit deliverables
• Oversee AP/AR, cash management, and daily accounting operations
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting processes
• Partner cross-functionally with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred (or in progress)
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Public accounting experience required (Big 4 or mid-tier strongly preferred)
• Supervisory experience preferred (directly managing or mentoring staff)
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics, etc.)
• Advanced Excel skills
