Opportunity Summary:
The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a critical role in supporting providers by ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate clinical documentation, and high-quality patient care. This position combines direct patient care, clinical support, and real-time scribing responsibilities to enhance provider efficiency and ensure complete and compliant medical records. The MA facilitates all aspects of the patient visit, including intake, testing, procedures, communication, and follow-up care coordination. Without this role, providers would be unable to maintain patient volume, workflow efficiency, or documentation accuracy.

Essential Duties:
Patient Intake, Clinical Care, and Testing (Primary Function)Conduct patient intake including medical history, chief complaint, and vital signs.
Prepare patients and exam rooms for visits based on symptoms, visit type, and chronic conditions.
Perform clinical testing (e.g., EKG, urinalysis, strep, flu/COVID, pregnancy testing, peak flow).
Administer medications (oral and injectable) and assist with procedures per standing orders.
Collect and process specimens accurately and safely.
Execute physician standing orders proactively based on patient needs.
Support efficient patient throughput (approximately 15–25 patients per day per MA).
Document patient encounters in real time during provider examinations.
Ensure chart accuracy, completeness, and compliance with billing and insurance standards.
Record HCC coding and diagnosis documentation thoroughly.
Manage chart workflows, including orders, prescriptions, and follow-up documentation.
Manage patient communications including phone messages, results, and follow-up instructions.
Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and outside medical records.
Schedule appointments and ensure continuity of care.
Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all communications.
Maintain exam room readiness including stocking supplies and preparing instruments.
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment following clinical protocols.
Perform assigned daily, weekly, and monthly operational tasks (e.g., autoclave maintenance).
Monitor inventory and notify leadership of supply needs.
Compensation:
$16-$22
As Needed:
Assist with front office or registration duties.
Train and orient new staff members.
Perform additional clinical or administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum 2+ years of clinical experience
High school diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements:
Standing and Walking: Frequent and prolonged standing and walking throughout the workday (up to 70–80% of shift) while rooming patients, assisting providers, and performing clinical tasks.
Sitting: Occasional sitting for documentation, charting, and phone communications.
Must be able to
lift, move, and assist patients and equipment up to 50 poundsregularly and occasionally more with assistance.
Frequent handling of medical supplies, equipment trays, and diagnostic devices.
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching to assist patients and access supplies.
Ability to quickly transition between exam rooms and respond to patient needs promptly.
High level of fine motor skills required for:
Administering injections
Performing lab testing and specimen collection
Handling instruments and sterile equipment
Continuous keyboarding and documentation in EHR system
Frequent repetitive use of hands and wrists for typing, charting, and performing clinical procedures.
