Product Development Manager

We are seeking a Product Development Manager with a strong commitment to design innovation, a dedicated work ethic, and an upbeat, positive outlook.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in maintaining standards and timelines throughout product development from the inception of a design to delivery.
- Working closely with the SVP of Product Design & Development, Senior PD Manager, and Engineers to manage Design Studio workflows and deadlines for product development, production, and launch.
- Corresponding daily with suppliers and factories to facilitate the development and production of the product.
- Handling pricing negotiations with factories; initiating cost-saving measures where applicable.
- Creating and maintaining detailed product specifications using software.
- Maintaining relationships with key manufacturing partners.
- Sourcing new materials and techniques, as suggested by the Design Team.
- Managing QC issues.
- Managing customization requests for the Contract channel.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
Position requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Design, or a related field is required. Related work experience is acceptable as well.
- 3-7 years of experience in product development required, with a focus on lighting products, a strong plus.
- Some technical experience, or interest in the technical aspects of lighting design, a plus.
- Must be able to potentially travel abroad 3-4 times a year to visit key factories, and within the US 3-4 times a year for trade shows and to meet with licensees.
- Must be innovative, with an eye for design.
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing as well as verbally. Excellent organizational skills required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision with a high attention to detail and quality.
- A desire to learn and grow into the position, and adapt to an evolving industry.
- A responsible, enthusiastic, and self-motivated attitude.
- Must be flexible and open-minded, with an ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Commute and work daily in our Wappingers Falls office.
- US citizen or permanent resident (no Visa sponsorship available).
