Our client is a fast-growing, technology-enabled professional services firm undergoing rapid expansion, including active M&A. This interim role supports a leadership transition and near-term acquisition activity, requiring a hands-on accounting leader who can stabilize operations quickly.

This is an interim role with potential for conversion.

Role Summary

The Interim Accounting Manager will own month-end close, oversee a small team, and support forecasting and operational accounting. This is a player/coach role in a lean environment with limited onboarding—success depends on the ability to ramp quickly and operate independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations
• Oversee AP/AR staff (2) and serve as escalation point
• Manage cash tracking and forecasting
• Support budgeting and forecast updates, including acquisition impact
• Apply POC/project-based revenue recognition and review project financials
• Review client billing (T&M and fixed fee) to ensure accuracy and alignment with contracts
• Support contract management and documentation
• Identify process and system gaps (Sage Intacct) and support integration efforts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience in professional services or project-based environments
• Strong background in close, revenue recognition, and cash management
• ERP experience (Sage Intacct or similar preferred)
