Accounting Manager

Overview

The Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day accounting operations and ensures accurate financial reporting for a fast-paced technology organization. This role manages the accounting team, strengthens internal controls, and partners with cross-functional departments such as FP&A, Operations, and Engineering to support strategic financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, payroll review, and month-end close.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Manage annual audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax partners.
• Support budgeting and forecasting by providing accurate financial data and insights.
• Develop and mentor accounting staff; oversee workload, training, and performance.
• Implement and optimize accounting systems and automation tools (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Bill.com, Expensify, or similar).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial operations for product launches, vendor agreements, and company initiatives.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial KPIs to support leadership decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 1–3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Experience with modern accounting and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-growing tech environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
