We are seeking an experienced Echocardiographer/Echo Tech to join a dynamic clinical team on a full-time contract assignment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiograms, including Doppler, contrast, and stress echo procedures, while providing compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent patient communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cardiologists and healthcare staff in a fast-paced environment.


Important Details:

  • 13-week contract position (extensions available)
  • Shift is 8-hour day shift (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM), 40 hrs/week
  • Location is Brooklyn, NY 11012
  • Pay Range for Locals: $51 - $56 per hour
  • Pay Range for Travelers: $2,500 - $2,560 per week


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and interpret M-mode, 2-D, pulse and continuous Doppler, color Doppler, contrast, and stress echocardiograms.
  • Complete echo worksheets, measurements, and calculations accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and educate patients regarding procedures and ensure patient comfort throughout examinations.
  • Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Document all examinations and findings in patient medical records.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain ultrasound/echo equipment and ensure examination rooms remain stocked and organized.
  • Provide care tailored to adult and geriatric patient populations.
  • Assist with training and mentoring students, fellows, and new staff members.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, ethics, and patient care.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of Echo Tech/Echocardiography experience required.
  • Current Echocardiography Registry certification required.
  • Experience performing echocardiograms independently in a clinical setting.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor of Science preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of echocardiography equipment, diagnostic imaging, and cardiac procedures.
  • BLS from AHA required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong patient care and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform physical duties including standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and patient transfers throughout the shift.
  • Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations preferred.
