About the Role
In this position, you will play a central role in structuring, negotiating, and managing a range of commercial finance transactions. The team supports a diverse client base-including financial institutions, lenders, and borrowers-on deals that demand precision, foresight, and efficient execution. As part of this collaborative group, you will:
- Draft and negotiate loan documents for secured and unsecured lending transactions.
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of a deal, including due diligence, closings, and post-closing matters.
- Juggle multiple deal timelines and deliverables across a variety of industries.
- Work closely with shareholders and senior counsel, with the opportunity to attend client meetings and contribute to strategic decision-making.
- Be encouraged to participate in business development and client relationship efforts.
Ideal Candidate Profile
To succeed in this position, you should bring:
- 4-6 years of commercial finance experience at a law firm, including experience managing transactions from term sheet to closing.
- A demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate loan documents (including credit agreements, security agreements, and ancillary documentation).
- Strong organizational and project management skills with a track record of balancing competing priorities.
- A J.D. from a well-regarded institution and strong academic credentials.
- Admission (or pending admission) in the jurisdiction where you'll be working (Illinois, New York, or Texas).
