Accounting Manager

A well‑established, privately held organization in the manufacturing/distribution space is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations, financial reporting, and team development. This role reports directly to the Controller and plays a key leadership role in driving accurate financials, strong internal controls, and continuous process improvement.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, fixed assets, and financial reporting
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements prepared by the team
• Analyze financial results, variances, and trends to provide actionable insights to leadership
• Support audits and ensure readiness for year‑end and periodic external reviews
• Oversee compliance‑related reporting (tax filings, licenses, regulatory requirements, etc.)
• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, scalability, and standardization
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations and business stakeholders

What They’re Looking For

• Strong general ledger and month‑end close experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 1+ year of team leadership
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA or CMA preferred
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems
• Proven ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies
