Wastewater Engineer

Job Description

An international industry leader in Water Technology is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager with expertise in the water industry. The role involves working on projects related to municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, including major treatment plant expansions, regional water quality studies, and critical water reuse projects to create sustainable and resilient water supplies.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering work in the design, rehabilitation, and construction of water, wastewater, and reuse treatment facilities.
• Work on engineering designs, prepare reports, develop plans, prepare specifications, and cost estimates for various water, wastewater, and reuse projects, including permitting and alternative analysis.
• Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables; handle data entry and analysis, and oversee the construction phase of projects.
• Plan, schedule, and conduct engineering work on medium to large-sized projects of moderately complex nature.
• Manage budget, schedule, contractual obligations, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with several supervisors or team leaders.
• Train and monitor internal staff.
• Act independently and make authoritative decisions on technical matters.
• Develop significant relationships with new and existing clients and maintain client relationships.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 6-10+ years of civil engineering experience in the water industry (water/wastewater, water resources, water treatment, etc.).
• 5+ years of project management experience.
• Professional Engineer license.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
• Experience with water main, sanitary sewer, wastewater engineering, wastewater treatment, project management, wastewater design, site development, and water engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Design and project management experience with water treatment facilities, water transmission/distribution projects, water storage, groundwater wells, and master planning.
• Proven experience in the design and construction phase of small, medium, and large-sized water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects with full responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations, and quality standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
• Work well in a team environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Arlington, VA.

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $190000.00/yr.
