Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to support our legal team. This is an in-office, full-time role ideal for early-career legal professionals, including international attorneys who have completed an LL.M. degree in the United States. Bar admission is not required at the time of hire, but highly preferred.

The Associate Attorney will play an important role in day-to-day operations, working closely with the managing attorney on casework, managing support staff, reviewing legal documents, and maintaining professional communication with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Staff Management

  • Supervise, coordinate, and support the work of paralegals, legal assistants, and administrative staff

  • Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure deadlines are met across the support team

  • Conduct periodic check-ins and provide day-to-day guidance to team members

  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend process improvements

Petition Review & Legal Work

  • Review, analyze, and prepare forms, support letters, and other legal filings for accuracy and completeness

  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings to support case strategy

  • Draft briefs and client correspondence

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date case files and documentation

Client Communication

  • Serve as a point of contact for client inquiries, providing timely and professional responses

  • Explain legal procedures, case status updates, and next steps to clients in clear, accessible language

  • Document client communications accurately in the case management system

Requirements:

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school, OR

  • Foreign law degree (LL.B. or equivalent) plus an LL.M. degree completed at an accredited U.S. law school

Licensure

  • Bar admission is not required, but highly preferred; candidates currently awaiting bar results or planning to sit for the bar are welcome to apply.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish

  • Organization and attention to detail

  • Ability to review and analyze legal documents with accuracy

  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as well as independently

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, AI platforms, and general legal software
