Position: We are looking for a highly skilled EMI/EMC mitigation specialist. You will contribute to the design, development, integration, and test of electrical and avionics systems for advanced missile programs. This cross-functional role involves close collaboration with systems engineering, mechanical design, software, guidance, and test teams to deliver robust, high-performance electrical solutions. You will perform schematic capture, PCB layout/design/simulation, component and part selection, and support integration and qualification testing — all while ensuring compliance with performance, EMI/EMC, environmental, safety, and security requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, modify and review of electrical schematics, wiring harnesses, power distribution systems, RF/coaxial assemblies, and circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
- Recommend and Implement EMI/EMC circuit and electrical improvements to pass MIL-STD-461, 464, and 1760 testing.
- Support electrical system integration, including interface definition, cable/harness routing, connector selection, and grounding/shielding strategies.
- Conduct and support electrical testing, including functional, environmental stress screening (ESS), EMI/EMC qualification, and flight-worthiness verification.
- Conduct and support other testing as needed.
- Identify and resolve design issues through root-cause analysis, redlines, in support of Configuration Change Board (CCB) requests.
- Generate and maintain electrical design documentation (in line with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) expectations), including schematics, interface control documents (ICDs), test plans, and reports.
- Ensure all designs comply with customer-required guidelines and specifications.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of electrical engineering experience in aerospace/defense, with emphasis on EMI/EMC design, development, integration, and test.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
- Strong ability to read, create, and redline schematics, harness drawings, and PCB layouts.
- Knowledge of military-grade connectors, cable/harness standards, RF/coaxial assemblies, power distribution, EMI/EMC mitigation, and environmental qualification (e.g. MIL-STD-461,464, and 1760).
- U.S. citizenship and current Secret clearance (or ability to obtain/maintain one).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Desired Skills:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Hands-on experience with PCB design tools (Altium Designer preferred) and schematic capture.
- Experience with high-reliability electronics for missile or flight systems.
- Familiarity with RF design, FPGA integration, firmware design and development, or digital/analog circuit design.
- Knowledge of COTS insertion strategies and radiation-hardened components.
What We Offer:
Beyond competitive pay, we offer:
- Full benefits from day one: medical, dental and vision
- 401(k) with generous company match and immediate vesting
- PTO and Federal holidays
