The position requires regular heavy lifting, light mechanical skills, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

  • Remove mechanical components and parts from dirty tubs and transport them to the washing machine for cleaning.
  • Rotate tubs in and out of the washing machine, ensuring proper loading and unloading procedures.
  • Inspect tubs before and after washing to confirm they meet cleanliness and quality standards.
  • Lift items weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks.
  • Roll tubs that may weigh up to 2,000 pounds using safe handling techniques.
  • Clean the tub room, including floors, walls, and any areas where ink or residue accumulates.
  • Perform manual cleaning of tubs when they cannot be fully cleaned by the washing machine.
  • Use basic mechanical tools such as tape measures, rulers, and small hand tools as needed.
  • Follow written procedures and work instructions accurately and consistently.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area within the production and varnish facility.
  • Wear and properly use required safety equipment in accordance with facility guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and report issues.
  • Support general production and manual labor tasks as assigned to meet production goals.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to roll tubs weighing up to 2,000 pounds using appropriate techniques.
  • Light mechanical aptitude, including the ability to use a tape measure, read rulers, and handle small hand tools.
  • Experience or comfort with general production, manual labor, and heavy lifting.
  • Ability to follow instructions from written procedures accurately.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to wear and use safety equipment as required by the facility.
  • Strong reliability, consistent attendance, and a positive attitude toward work.
  • Willingness to perform janitorial and cleaning tasks in a dirty job environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Skills in general labor or janitorial work.
  • Comfort working around inks, paints, solvents, and related materials.
  • Interest in learning and training to become an operator, with the ability to progress through structured training programs.

Why Work Here?

The organization offers strong opportunities for growth, with pay increases and promotional incentives available both during the contract period and after conversion to permanent employment. You can participate in structured training programs to progress toward operator roles, earning pay raises as you complete each stage of training. Employees have access to benefits including health insurance, dental coverage, and a 401(k) plan, as well as opportunities for overtime. The company has a long-established history dating back to 1927 and a highly diverse workforce representing over 50 different ethnicities while serving customers in over 200 countries, fostering an inclusive and globally minded culture.

Work Environment

You will work in a secured production facility that manufactures security inks for currency, with a varnish facility directly connected to the production plant. The environment is very clean due to the use of solvents, yet the job itself is physically demanding and can be very dirty, involving ink, paint, and residue. There is a noticeable ink and paint smell throughout the plant. The role operates on a 1st shift schedule, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with opportunities for overtime.
