We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join an innovative Early Research & Development team focused on next-generation life science and diagnostic instrumentation technologies.

This is an exciting opportunity for engineers who enjoy hands-on product development, rapid prototyping, and solving complex electromechanical challenges in a fast-paced R&D environment.

What You’ll Work On:

• Design and development of electro-mechanical, pneumatic, thermal, and instrumentation sub-systems

• Mechanical integration, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of advanced automation platforms

• Thermal management and precision temperature control systems

• Cross-functional collaboration with electrical, systems, materials, and assay teams

• CAD modeling, manufacturing drawings, and prototype iteration

• Instrumentation development from concept through verification

Required Qualifications:

• BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field

• Strong hands-on experience with mechanical/electromechanical instrumentation development

• Experience with life science or diagnostic instrumentation strongly preferred

• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks

• Experience with rapid prototyping tools, machining, 3D printing, CNC, or lab/shop equipment

• Familiarity with Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools for device control/data acquisition

Nice to Have:

• Experience with thermal systems, automation, or precision fluid handling interfaces

• Exposure to regulated product development environments

• CFD/FEA simulation experience

• Experience supporting genomics or sequencing instrumentation is a plus
