Accounting Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations. This role requires a strong command of Excel, including advanced formulas, to analyze financial performance and drive data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate will break down Profit & Loss (P&L) statements by location and route to assess profitability and support strategic planning. Additionally, they will develop proformas for bidding on new contracts, ensuring accurate financial projections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting functions, including reconciliations, reporting, and analysis.
• Break down and analyze P&L statements by location and route to determine profitability.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills (including formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling) to generate insights.
• Develop proformas and financial projections to support bids on new contracts.
• Work closely with operations and leadership to provide financial guidance.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting (public experience ideal)
• CPA Preferred
• Advanced Excel skills (lookup functions, pivot tables, and complex formulas).
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data.
• Experience with P&L analysis and cost accounting preferred.
• Ability to work independently and communicate financial insights effectively.
