Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, organized, and compassionate Medical Assistant to support both clinical and administrative operations within our outpatient rehabilitation practice. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, enjoys interacting with patients, and has strong multitasking and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and room patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and patient updates
- Assist physical therapists, chiropractors, and providers with patient flow
- Prepare treatment rooms and maintain cleanliness and organization
- Support therapy and chiropractic procedures as directed by providers
- Schedule patient appointments and manage calendars
- Verify insurance information and assist with authorizations when needed
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
- Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and coordinate follow-up care
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and clinic safety protocols
- Assist with inventory management and ordering clinical supplies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Previous experience in a medical office, outpatient rehab, chiropractic, orthopedic, or physical therapy setting preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems and medical terminology
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of insurance verification and scheduling preferred
- CPR certification preferred
