Accounting Manager
Location: Hybrid – Columbus, OH
Salary: $80,000–$90,000About the Organization:

A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its team.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and supporting the organization’s financial integrity in a nonprofit environment. This role manages core accounting functions, ensures compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, supports grant tracking and reporting, and plays a key role in audit preparation and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, general ledger, payroll support, and revenue recognition
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Track and report on grant and donor funding, ensuring compliance with restrictions and funding requirements
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes; monitor performance against budget and analyze variances
• Assist in preparation for the annual audit and serve as a liaison with external auditors
• Monitor cash flow and maintain appropriate cash controls
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support organizational decision-making

Preferred Qualifications of the Accounting Manager:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred)
• Experience with general ledger and full-cycle close processes
• Experience supporting or preparing for federal grant audits
• Experience with grant accounting and compliance reporting
